Poles of Inconvenience: Europe Edition 2024

There is nothing more inconvenient in life than suffering a life changing injury. People who have suffered from a brain injury or major trauma have had their life blown to pieces, and their subsequent recovery is fraught with tough times, where passion and perseverance is needed to reach their goals. We are taking part in The Poles of Inconvenience Rally 2024, as we believe the journey symbolises the grit and determination that is needed to push through rehabilitation to reach an end goal. The extremes of emotion are experienced - the elation of making progress and the despair of suffering setbacks. The key message is, to move forward, no matter how small the steps are, or how difficult it gets. All journeys into the unknown are not easy or linear, they are full of surprises, some good and some bad. Often, the help and support of our fellow humans is necessary, embracing their expertise and comfort when times get tough. Human connection is the most fundamental and necessary part of life and of success. Learning to accept and embrace change, recognising that change although scary, can lead to immense personal growth and achievement, always remembering that: ‘inconvenient’ does not mean ‘unreachable’.
