We're almost two weeks into the rally and the teams still standing are finally finding out what it's like driving 10,000 miles a third of the way across the globe.

In between full-time adventuring, many hours on the road, not unexpected break downs, comedy delays and questionable fines the teams have also managed to squeeze in a little sight seeing and relaxation. Here are some of the best photos posted by teams so far showing the spicy variety of life on the road when you're taking on the mighty Mongol Rally.

Life on the Road

Angry shouty ladies who didn't want their photograph taken, a Crocodile Dundee moment (with a donkey), deteriorating roads and dressing for the occasion... Life on the road is a very mixed bag on the Mongol Rally - something for everyone you might say.

TV Presenter and author Leon Logothetis makes the mistake of taking this photo without permission. A couple of minutes later they got very shouty and tried to take the car keys. Read Leon's blog about it here or follow his adventure diaries on the LA Times or the Matador Network.

R & R on the Road

It's nearly all driving on the Mongol Rally, but not all driving. You have to stop and sleep at some point. Some people even do non-driving activities along the way.
