Emile Colling

Emile is our first ever Luxemburger/Luxemburgese/delete as appropriate Derby entrant.  He and his wife have a yard of 15 horses, many home-bred, who they train and compete in endurance and dressage.  Emile has been riding since 2000 and has already racked up several placings in Europe over distances up to 90km.  Before taking to the saddle he has been, variously, a World-ranked fencer (3x World Championships representing Luxembourg), a SkiBobber (1x Winter Games), a triathlete, a diver, an endurance cyclist, an off-piste skier and mountaineer.  Sometimes he even finds time to be an anaesthetist.  Sometimes in a hospital, and sometimes in a helicopter emergency response team.  He has even found time to have three children.  He can hold his breath for 14 minutes underwater and never eats junk food*

I’m losing weight and training hard for this adventure, riding 4-5 times a week, on 3 different horses, 2-3 hours per session. When I am not in the hospital I am on horseback
