PHOTOS: Finish Line of the Mongol Derby 2012

Over the 24 hours following the nail biting race for first place on day 8, the remaining riders followed across the finish line. Having ridden every day on semi-wild horses from dawn until dusk, living on the steppe with local families or camping out, the riders were ready to celebrate with a mare's milk and beer chaser while nursing some serious chafing.

Race photo-journalist Richard Dunwoody was on hand to capture the triumph and relief of each of the riders as they reached the finale of the world's longest & toughest horse race.
