A POM and 2 Aussies have a bash at whizzing from one side of India to the other in September. One of them has some experience with driving silly things across vast expanses of land having done the Mongol Rally. Unfortunately the best mechanical lesson out of that adventure was "old cars don't often have a crossy-type screw in them" which rendered most of the toolkit useless. More positively though - it also opened up his eyes to the magic that is duct-tape. The other two members of the team have largely filled their time with travel that doesn't include defunct vehicles. They also spent some of their time learning engineering so hopefully they'll know exactly how to hold a spanner and what the term "cam-shaft" means. They also each hold doctorates in "Rickshaw Doctoring" from the Guatemalan school of mechanical wizardry (Guatwarts). Nothing could possibly go wrong. We'll take of 2 weeks from work, max-out our leave and get back home in time for a cup of tea, a shower and a brisk walk to work...smashing.
