Mongol Rally

The rain held off until about 9am, by which time we'd packed up our gear and tried to spread as much as we could in the car.  Took a drive into Chichester for a couple of last minute supplies and then headed to Goodwood Motor Circuit.

There were a lot of teams there and supporters braving the rain, which it did pretty much non-stop.  Put a bit of a damper on the festivities, but which were still entertaining. Just before 2, cars started lining up for the lap around the track.

So while the weather was horrible, from a rally perspective, I feel like we really nailed it today so far.  Got our lap around the track on video (although I haven't checked that yet so could be a bit disappointed later on), but was definitely caught by a tv camera doing a pretty impressive burnout.  Then made it to the eurotunnel with 0 (zero) mistakes about 3 hours ahead of schedule.  ETa to the finish line has been re-revised to august 10.

There were apparently some problems in the tunnel so train is delayed, but should still get to France ahead of schedule, campnig near Calais.  Most of the gear has dried out to some degree, so provided it doesn't rain as much in France, it could be an ok night.  But there's still the small issue of arriving in France and finding a campsite, however, based on how things have gone so far today, we are both very optimistic that it should be a snap.
