The Rickshaw Run sees teams from all over the world wobble across India in an auto-rickshaw, designed for short hops around town. One of the least intelligent things you can do with two weeks.
In late 2006 after the third successful edition of the Mongol Rally, the Rickshaw Run was created. There were shrieking cries of 'impossible' and vicious shouts of 'irresponsible' from many naysayers. Turns out it was definitely possible but they were right about it being irresponsible. 34 teams proved that a humble auto-rickshaw could take on a continent, wobbling across deserts and up mountains from Chochin in the far south all the way to Darjeeling in the foothills of the Himalayas. Now the most popular Adventurists jaunt, there have been an impressive 14 Rickshaw Runs and there are three editions a year.
