In 2010 Mongolia expereinced a particularly harsh winter (dzud). Adventurists visit Mongolia every year for both the Mongol Rally and Mongol Derby and so an apeal was launched. A stagering amount of money was raised with in two weeks mainly donations from participants on previous events. AVSF then made a delivery to Khotont, near Khakhorum, with 12 tonnes of animal fodder, as a direct result of the kind donations. While they were there the vets inspected and treated the herders' animals. The charity, and the herders were extremely grateful for the funds raised so quickly which made this delivery possible.
