Tim FitzHigham
A spectacular evening was had by all in attendance at the Edinburgh Afternoon Tea. The event was held in one of our most splendiferous locations yet, the Royal College of Physicians, Queen Street. To truly appreciate the ornateness of this venue, do take a jolly good goosey gander at the photographs below.

After a crowd rousingly raconteured introduction from our very own Rob Mills (Mongol Rally Chief), the evenings entertainment turned full-tiller to a comedic adventurer going by the name of Tim FitzHigham Esq.
Tim is quite the chap. He has hair on his face. Arms. A couple of legs. Some eyes. And a rather eccentric head. He chose one particularly odd moment in his life to focus on that night - becoming the first person to row the English Channel... in a bath tub. His anecdotes entertained all in attendance. After an hour of the most unusual of tales, the evenings proceedings moved into the all too aptly named, Great Hall.

A multitude of mouthwatering cakes were on offer to the marauding masses. A selection of the finest teas had been flown in especially from all corners of the Earth. However, it was the partners of the event, Hendrick's Gin who provided the most refreshing of orally administered delights. The finest gin's in Edinburgh were served that night, in the studious surroundings of the Physicians Library. With its leather bound books from floor to ceiling, hidden spiral staircases to the mezzanine floor - I half expected there to be a cunningly concealed copy of The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat which if tilted 27 degrees from rest, reveals the entrance to the building's underground vaults... alas, it was not to be found. But you get the idea.

Hendrick's Gin and tonics were sipped over stories of adventure from Mongol Rally veterans, Rickshaw Runners to-be and Ice Runners not-much-longer-to-be. And those not already firmly planted in the gangly tentacles of adventurism were warmly welcomed and enthralled by tales of brave adventure. A hearty thanks to all who attended and to Hendrick's for their forever unique presence at our most excellent Afternoon Teas.
The next outing of our tea sipping escapades is in Sydney, Australia on the 12th November 2011. The legend is a certain Jon Muir, a man whose popped up/down to both poles, summited Everest and walked all the way across Australia with nothing but a man's best friend for company - his dog that is.
I leave you with photos from this most marvelous of occasions.
