Bernardo Galvan
Holy straight bananas afternoon tea has come to our European brothers. You thought Europe was all about fiscal policy and arguments about the shape of fruit. Well think again people of the tea revolution. On February 27 last year our European friends ground to a halt at 4:30 pm for cucumber sandwiches and a fine array of teas.
This excellent tea party took place in the decadent surrounds of Tinta Roja, an Argentinian bar and theatre secreted in the back streets of Barcelona. Bernardo, better known as Cosi, had us on the edge of our seats with two-wheeled tales from the road.
Cosi's adventuring CV is mightily impressive. He's ridden his motorbike from Cadiz - London (aged only 18), from Cadiz - Tokyo and across every country in the Americas. The icing on the cake was his 70 day circumnavigation of the world on a motorbike in 1996; the fastest ever solo round the world trip by bike.

After many a chuckle and a fair amount of cerveza the party continued well into the pre-dawn hours. At the point someone suggested an Absinthe bar the memory fades....but until that time the memory tells me our first Spanish tea was a roaring success.
