Riding experience: Horses are an integral part of Patrick’s life. As a specialist horse veterinary practitioner he can't remember the last day he didn't see or touch a horse. He’s been riding since he was toddler and tried everything from breaking to competition riding to galloping bareback around the mountains and beaches of Fiji.
Outdoor/survival experience: Patrick describes himself as a hardcore survivalist. He was backpacking in the Himalayas aged fifteen and became the youngest person to cycle across Borneo at sixteen. Since he qualified from Liverpool University in 2007 Patrick has travelled to the developing world to help improve the welfare of working horses, donkeys and mules through voluntary aid work. In 2014 Patrick climbed 3,033m Mount Aspiring and ran a 3.5 hr marathon.
Patrick is a trustee of and is raising money for Kiwi Care Team, a NZ-based group of volunteer equine vets, farriers, dentists and trainers providing education and first aid to working animals around the world.
